EC Rentals and Tapuwanashe Allin Shine at the 2025 Megafest Business Awards

Bulawayo — Zimbabwe’s leading businesses gathered at the Megafest Business Awards 2025, held at the Cresta Msasa Hotel in Harare, where excellence and innovation took centre stage. Among the night’s biggest winners were EC Rentals, which clinched the Gold Award for Outstanding Organisation in Hospitality, and Tapuwanashe Allin, who received the Outstanding Agribusiness Leader of the Year (Northern Region) honour.

The Megafest Awards, hosted annually by Megafest Holdings, recognise individuals and organisations driving business growth, leadership, and community development across Zimbabwe. The 2025 edition celebrated achievements across 35 categories, from hospitality and finance to technology and agribusiness.

Excellence in Hospitality

EC Rentals’ Gold Award marks a milestone for Zimbabwe’s event-management industry. Known for its premium event logistics, décor, and equipment services, the company has built a reputation for precision and client satisfaction. Its recognition as an Outstanding Organisation in Hospitality reflects a growing standard of professionalism within Zimbabwe’s events sector and underscores the firm’s commitment to setting what it calls “the gold standard” in service excellence.

Leadership in Agribusiness

Agribusiness entrepreneur Tapuwanashe Allin was celebrated for her contributions to agricultural development and empowerment. Her work aligns with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which prioritises inclusive growth through youth and women’s participation in agriculture. In her acceptance remarks, Allin emphasised that the award symbolises not just personal achievement but a collective commitment to rural transformation and sustainable food production.

A Broader Impact

The 2025 awards highlighted how private-sector innovation is contributing to Zimbabwe’s post-pandemic recovery and economic diversification. The hospitality sector, which had faced major disruptions in recent years, is rebounding through companies like EC Rentals that prioritise adaptability and service innovation. Likewise, agribusiness leaders such as Allin are reshaping rural economies by introducing new production models, partnerships, and digital tools.

Outlook

As both award recipients continue to expand their footprint, their recognition by Megafest underscores a wider trend of home-grown enterprises taking leadership roles in national development. For EC Rentals, the accolade reinforces its brand authority in event management. For Allin, it cements her position as a key player in Zimbabwe’s drive toward agricultural self-sufficiency and youth empowerment.

The Megafest Business Awards remain one of the country’s most influential business recognition platforms—celebrating not only profit and performance but the people and ideas shaping Zimbabwe’s economic future.
