FEMNET Invites Web Designers to Lead Its Digital Transformation

The African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) has announced an open call for qualified individuals or design teams to redesign and develop its official website — a crucial step in modernizing the digital presence of one of Africa’s most influential feminist movements.

FEMNET, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, is a Pan-African feminist membership network that connects over 800 members in 50 African countries. The organization advocates for gender equality, climate and economic justice, and women’s rights across the continent, serving as a leading voice in policy advocacy, movement building, and communication for social change.

According to the official announcement, the organization is seeking a skilled and collaborative web design team to craft a modern, accessible, and responsive website that reflects its feminist values and enhances user experience. The redesign will integrate improved functionality, storytelling elements, and an intuitive navigation system to make FEMNET’s resources, campaigns, and publications more easily accessible to its global community.

Project Scope

The selected candidate or team will be responsible for developing a fully functional website that:

  • Strengthens FEMNET’s digital advocacy and communication strategy
  • Integrates multilingual accessibility and feminist-centered design principles
  • Enhances visibility for ongoing initiatives in economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive rights, and youth participation
  • Incorporates analytics and content-management systems to support sustained growth
