Ghanaian actress, producer, and director Juliet Ibrahim<\/a> premiered her latest short film Behind a Lie<\/em> at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF)<\/a> in Lagos, Nigeria, marking another milestone in her multi-faceted career in West African cinema. The screening, which brought together cast, crew, and industry supporters, highlighted Ibrahim\u2019s continued commitment to authentic African storytelling and female-led filmmaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short film, produced under Juliet Ibrahim Studios<\/a>, delves into the complexities of truth, deception, and redemption within modern relationships. Directed by Ibrahim and filmed by cinematographer Sjay101<\/a>, Behind a Lie<\/em> features performances from Doris Okorie<\/a>, Efa Iwara, and Ibrahim herself. She received Best Actress in a Leading Role<\/em> at the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards<\/a> for 4 Play<\/em> and was honored with an Achievement in Directing<\/em> award for Widow\u2019s Gift<\/em> in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond film, Ibrahim is the first female President of Women in Film, Television, and Media Ghana (WIFT Ghana)<\/a>, advocating for gender equity and professional growth for women in the creative industries.
